A morning in Venice and a afternoon in Burano… What a dream day full of beauty

Venezia!! Oh How I love Venice. In college I dreamed of visiting the sinking lagoon and wandered if I would ever be able to visit the ancient city in my lifetime. Now I have been to Venice on many occasions. The first time I arrived at the city, I was in shocking amazement of the architectural marvel. The romantic city on water’s canals are a perfect view to wake up to as I did on a late September morning.
I had never visited the city of Burano so I made sure the rainbow city of canals was on the to do list this European visit. I woke up around 8 a.m. to the beautiful sun and sound of boats streaming down the canal. I went downstairs to enjoy the Italian canal front breakfast. Croissants and cocoa, a European staple were on the menu. After breakfast I dressed and hurried down the canal street to catch the ferry to Burano. The trip took about 45 minutes.
The minute I stepped foot on the island, I got some fried fish or fritto misto as they call it here, which is a delicious fried Italian appetizer. The seafood here is fresh and tasty. I enjoyed and walked through the windy street, admiring the picturesque mirage of rainbow colored homes and stores.
While on the island I sported a striped voluminous sleeved blouse from Johanna Ortiz similar to this one and paired the statement piece with ripped denim jeans. I accessorized with Barbara Bui denim peep toe booties and a mini gold Chanel handbag and my Celine sunnies.
